Ever since the rules changed on signing into AVSIM, it seems after much difficulty finally getting into AVSIM, that I have to SIGN IN EVERY DAY!.

How do I change that.  I have checked "Remember Me", but that doesn't help.

Hey, Stan...try clearing your browser cache and cookies.  If you had used "remember me" in the past, that may be
interfering now.

I did that twice.

I use both EDGE and CHROME.  It never mattered in the past.  I turned off "remember me" to see how that works.

Today I got blocked out of AVSIM for 7 minutes or so, after trying to sign in.  My email and password were in from yesterday, and "remember me" was checked.

I'm in now, but this is a daily occurrence.

Stan

The "remember me" persistent login works by storing a cookie in your browser that the server uses to authenticate you without having to provide login credentials each time.  If you are running an ad blocker or some other security software that blocks the cookie from being stored and/or transmitted back when the server requests it, that would explain why your persistent login does not work.  If you added or reconfigured a blocker after your persistent login cookie was already stored, it may also explain why it worked before the login method was changed (because the change rendered the old cookie invalid and the ad blocker is not allowing a new one to be stored).

The system logs show that you do have a persistent login currently active.  If it's not working, it suggests something is blocking the handshaking, thus requiring login credentials to be provided again.  The most likely explanation is a browser plugin like an ad blocker or anti-tracking privacy program.

I'm leaving "Remember me" on now and I'm getting on every day.  BUT, I must still click and Login.  I'm not automatically logged in when I come to AVSIM as I used to be in the past.

I'm OK with it, however, as long as it works and gets me in the forum successfully.

Thanks for your help.

So....something, somehow is signing you out when you leave the site??

Don't know if any of this will help, but might give you some ideas.

Thanks.  Followed all directions in above article; however, I still have to click on sign in when I come to AVSIM.  It works, so I'll just live with that extra click I need to get in.

Seems to be all fixed.  My sign in is staying from day to day.  Perfect now.
