September 21, 20241 yr yes it can run 7860x2160 but the perspective in cockpit does not look right towards the corners. MSFS 2020 is not built for this type of monitor. 4090 struggles with it too.

September 21, 20241 yr For 2D, I use ultra wide, and don't mind the edge distortion. Compared to the stunning views that wide screen gives, it's not a major problem for me. But I'm doing that on 1440p double wide, not 4K double wide. So better fps. But here's another thing, if you set MSFS options to full double wide resolution numbers, use windowed mode instead of full screen, and then drag the window to about 1 and 1/2 wide; then the fps will increase dramatically compared to double wide. Doing it that way, you have really great wide views, good fps, and far less edge distortion. A double wide screen allows you to do this 1-1/2. And fps and distortion is so much better than a full double wide image 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
