New guy looking for suggestions

Featured Replies

Hello all, I recently found this forum and am hoping someone can help me. I have a few aviation memorabilia items I am looking to find new homes for since I do not have the room for and that someone other than me can enjoy them. I also need the money to be quite honest. A little about me, My great uncle was Walter Burnham who was half of the inventing team of the Travel Air Mystery Ship of the late 20's and early 30's air racing fame. My grandfather Clifford Burnham was a flying circus pilot in the Omaha area and was believed to be the first paid pilot to fly a customer in his airplane west of the Mississippi. I have in my possession a binder documenting that flight along with several pictures and mimeographs with actual letters from the passengers. I also have a few farm real estate posters from the 1930's with air photographs that my grandfather did. I also have a very rough travel air mystery ship model that was made in the 1920's with actual working pedals and stick. The electric motor even turns. I have a newspaper add that even backs it up. I also believe I have a very rare prop from one of the older airplanes that my grandfather had. It is a Hamilton Standard and I do not know its worth, but it is pretty cool. My question is this: where does someone go when they need to sell these items? I considered e-bay, but I am not sure of the value. Thanks for you help in advance.

yes, the Swap meet forum is more Condusive and will Allowbetter Marketing.

Thanks! I will try it there. I was not sure if it belonged.....

G'day Harley,Mate these items seem to maybe have historical value. Do you have any historical aircraft societies or aircraft museums in your state.? To be honest I don't think they would be prepared to pay big money for the items ( they tend to like donations :-) ), but it might be worth a try ring them up and seeing if they are interested.Cheers,Roger "Norton guy"
