Unable to connect to X-Plane 12 traffic plugin over network

Featured Replies

Hello Dave, the new interface looks great nice job!
Using V3 EarlyAccess_0.0.13 I haven't been able to connect to the X-Plane traffic plugin over the network. I was able to install the newer version of the plugin using the installer included in V3. I have firewalls turned off on the P2A and X-Plane computers. Connecting with P2A V2 works fine. Any ideas? Thanks ! !

Yes I did Dave. I shut v3 down and started v2 and traffic in v2 works as it should so I shouldn't have any network or sim/plugin issues.

Here's the error I get.

Hi Dave,
Understandably, this is probably not high on your hit list. As of EarlyAccess_0.0.26C, remote access to the X-Plane traffic plug-in is not working. When you get a chance to look at it this might help a little.

Relevant part of the log:
2024-10-31 12:16:14.2651|ERROR|P2ADataLinq.AsyncTCPClient|Error connecting to HostSystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:48007

It looks like the IP address in the input text box isn't being used as it is trying to connect to localhost 🙂
I can link the log file if you need it.

This is not a nag 🙂, You're doing a great job Dave thank you much !!!

Dave,
The connection worked and I got icons on the map for the AI traffic. But, I don't think the traffic was updating its positions. It could have been a problem with World Traffic. I'll fly another flight later today and report back in this thread if it's working or start another thread if it's not.
Thank you very much Dave ! !

Traffic looks like it was working on the last hour and a half flight. Traffic was moving on the P2Av3 map and looked to be normal.

I'm using the latest version of X-Plane 12.

On the previous flight, where traffic looked to be stuck, I had opened and closed the World Traffic Radar screen a few times. I was trying to determine if the traffic was the same on the P2Av3 map as on the World Traffic Radar screen. On about the 3rd time I opened the World Traffic Radar screen, it started blinking and did not seem to be updating the aircraft position. I'm thinking that a problem with World Traffic may have been the cause of traffic appearing to be stuck in the same place for an hour or so. I'll report back if I find anything new.

Thanks a lot Dave ! !

Thanks for the report Bruce.

In doing some testing in the latest release versions of XP12 and Traffic Global, I got the same blinking on the Radar and freezing in P2A after opening the radar.

Sounds like the trick is to not open the Traffic Global Radar.  Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Dave
