Help - No add-on menu!

HeyaI seem to have a problem with add-ons on my FSX. When i tried to download FScopilot it installed ok and ran ok on its own, outside FSX. However whenever i run FSX, i get no "add-on" menu on the toolbar. I have tried countless things. I have uninstalled my anti-virus/firewall. I have tried a clean verison of FSX etc. Any ideas. I think it may be something to do with simconnect? dll.xml? or something that helps to start up the "add-on" menu into FSX. Not something restricting it, such as firewalls etc. FScopilot is not the only software that doesnt start the "add-on" bar, i tried using FSdreamteam Zurich Airport scenery, once again that didnt work. Same problem. anyhelp would be great.

Sounds like a corrupted dll.xml file with missing tags ;-)Easy to adjust post a screenshot here of the little file layout...http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y156/awf1/sign.jpg

FScopilot is one of the packages that has a known bug in that the installation of said program corrupts some of the FSX files. There have been other packages that use the addon manager where you have to check on your files.Anyway, go to c:users(your logon name)application datamicrosoftfsx. Look for your dll.xml and the EXE.xml files. Open each using Notepad. What you're looking for are sections that don't have termination entries . Each section must have this pair of entries. In other words you should be looking for:entriesentriesentriesentriesNote: For the FSCopilot section - you may have to move this section down towards the bottom of the file - play with this if that doesn't help.fb

Hi wardie,I already replied to you on fsdreamteam forum, but I'll copy the message here, it might be useful to others with Simconnect woes as well:>That is my dll.mxl file. All seems alrite, all start with> and end with Your dll.xml file looks fine. The problem seems to be Simconnect itself not working. There are several things you can try:- Repair FSX installation, it might fix some files.- Turn off any firewall. Simconnect uses an internal TCP communication, some firewalls are known to be able to block it. This was documented by Microsoft as well:http://www.fsinsider.com/tips/Pages/BlockItOrNot.aspxIf it still doesn't work, you might try activating Simconnect diagnostic mode, have a look here to see how:http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php...msg1261#msg1261The diagnostic mode will enable a text window to appear, that will display some useful information about Simconnect operations, version, addons loaded, etc.Note, having a non working Simconnect, will probably prevent you using any FSX addons in the future, so it's worth investigating and correct the issue.regards,
