October 20, 20241 yr Two contributing factors motivated this flight of mine today: In my previous post, I'd indicated, with that flight in an A340, my multiple attempts to complete the approach and touchdown into LSZH/Zurich Airport had failed, each attempt resulting in my cockpit avionics and displays (abruptly) going dark in the final approach phase, prior to completion of the landing process. So, I wished to re-try that approach segment here with a different a/c (a simpler single-prop rather than a quad-jet long-haul airliner...🙂...). However, initially, also with this a/c, I still faced the same issue. Fortunately, a couple of (quit & restart) of MSFS seemed to eventually resolve my issue, allowing me to complete my approach and touchdown. In the Marketplace today, I caught a (new) and interesting livery pack for the (stock) MSFS/Asobo Cessna 208B Grand Caravan. Essentially, this pack, available at a nominal cost, converts the pre-existing C208B liveries into their "Metallic" versions aka: bright and shiny ones...🙂...I liked the look of the repaints enough to get it, and then selected out of it a firecracker red color (my favorite a/c color...🙂...especially on a GA airplane) for this renewed attempt to land into LSZH/Zurich airport. So, here we go...please find this collection of images of my flight today, as I lift off northward from Rwy 34, proceed straight out ahead for about ~12 miles, and then loop back (over the picturesque meadows and low mountains of the city of Zurich) to capture the Localizer/Glideslope signals for the southward (ILS) Rwy 16. For this (experimental) flight, I have not activated any ILS approach on the Garmin unit but instead have preferred to manually set the heading for Localizer capture (near about the FAF FIX for the ILS Rwy 16 approach). Hope you enjoy these pictures of this Cessna a/c flying at LSZH/Zurich, dressed in all Red... (due to some reason, my mind is now drifting back to that old Gene Wilder film "The Woman in Red"...🙂...). Anyway, you decide if this Cessna lady bird, in flight, here, looks good in (shiny) Red ...🙂... My takeoff time: ~8:00am (local) My touchdown time: ~9:00am (local) So, the golden sun is shining on my starboard side after liftoff and it's shining on my port side during landing... Thanks for viewing...! Happy flying...!

October 26, 20241 yr Author Will and pmplayer: Thanks for the comments...glad you liked this Grand Caravan....🙂.... Cheers...!
October 27, 20241 yr Lovely set showing a nice Caravan P_7878! 🙂 And some "pointed nose" AI planes provided by "Simple Traffic". I get annoyed every time I see that on my airports. They really should improve it at Aerosoft. PC: Ryzen 7 3700x AM4, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060 12GB, Storage SSD 3TB, HDD 8TB, USB 8TB, 2 Screens, Win10-64 SIMs: FSX SE, P3d 3.4/4.5/6.1, Xplane 10/11/12, MSFS 2020/24, Aerofly FS 4
October 27, 20241 yr Author Appreciated the comemnt, Andreas...! Agree wholeheartedly, I don't know why the AI a/c are so bad (at least on my Xbox), even for those hand-crafted airports...I like that the default airports are so much better than what we were used to in past SIMs, still, just a little refinement could go a long way here...
