November 14, 20241 yr Installing Windows 11 24H2 caused big system fiasco requiring restore - now have everything working OK again except MSFS always starts in Dev Mode and works as it should in Dev Mode. But, if I try to terminate Dev Mode the sim ALWAYS suffers a terminal error which locks up the screen requiring a program termination thru Task Manager. I cannot find a user.cfg setting or any other setting to tell the sim to NOT start in Dev Mode. How do I get out of Dev Mode? November 14, 20241 yr Have you tried updating the MSFS SDK? It might help you be able to close dev mode. November 14, 20241 yr Author Solved - I forgot that I could go into Options and turn off Dev Mode there and then Apply/Save. That path does not seem to use the same logic that crashes Dev Mode when I use the pulldown menu and terminate AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D / MSI X870 Tomahawk Mobo / 64 GB DDR5 memory / RTX 4070 Super with 12 GB VRAM / AORUS FO48U 4k display NVMe for Drive C, an NVMe device dedicated to Flight Sim 2024 and a separate NVMe device for Flight Sim 2020 and an NVMe dedicated to 500GB of addons managed by AddonsLinker / 1 GB Comcast Xfinity Internet connection / HP Reverb G2 / Tobii 5 Head & Eye Tracking
