November 18, 20241 yr MSFS 2024 Scramble – Multiplayer Test Flight This will be a very impromptu flight. Assuming that some of us are successful in getting MSFS 2024 installed by Wednesday, we will attempt our first multiplayer group flight. I suggest that our first group flight start at Southwest Oregon Rgnl (KOTH) on the Pacific coast (this was where we attempted our first MSFS 2020group flight.) We scramble from there while discovering the idiosyncrasies of the new platform. Chose whatever default aircraft you prefer. It will come as no surprise that I will most probably be in the Cessna Caravan. We may wish to hop to other locations, but it would probably be a good idea to chose relatively obscure locations to not be overwhelmed by multiplayer traffic. November 20, 20241 yr Author I've messed about a bit with the MSFS flight planner. Here's a link to a possible route: Wednesday Nov 20 - Oregon Coast | Windows 11 | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | i9-14900K | RTX 4090 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 | 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | 2x 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | CORSAIR AX1600i ATX Titanium | LG C2 42 Inch 4K OLED |
November 20, 20241 yr I will be flying MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 does not work for me at all. Regards Gunter Schneider
November 20, 20241 yr Hmm. Microsoft/Asobo server decisions (and probably serious resource constraints) made launch a horror show - and prevented most from getting access to the simulator on the first day. But even with access, this transition will be a trial. Many "2020" commands have been changed so much continuity has been lost. (And personally, my whole controller setup was an hours-long puzzle with me trying to figure out what Asosbo has done and trying to invent workarounds.) And of course, most of our routines will have to be relearned simply because Asobo has revamped the entire logic of the user interface. In a different world a long time ago, we would resort to RTFM. But this is a new era. We shall figure out all this...eventually.(I am willing to try FS2024 ... if possible.) Some good news. LittleNavmap seems to work with FS2024 at an elementary level in the sense that I see my plane in LNM. And ditto for Transmitter. With any luck, this will have some cross-platform sharing. So we may be able to fly "together" in some way. --Mike MacKuen
November 20, 20241 yr Hopefully HUD Can be turned off in both internal and external view? Edited November 20, 20241 yr by nbrich1
November 20, 20241 yr Yes, you can. It is in the settings. Just klick on Jeffs flightplan, you will be guided to the plan, that works fine. Regards Gunter Schneider
