November 21, 20241 yr I know there are problems, but I cannot see any mention of the problems I am experiencing, so wondering if I am doing anything wrong, - in fact any help would be appreciated 1) When I open the Xbox app on my PC (Windows 11), I get a popup inviting me to send an invite to friends. I cannot get rid of this popup, so cannot launch MSFS 2024 from the Xbox app. 2) When I then go to the windows store, I can see that I have the base MSFS 2024 in the library. But each time I go there, there is a cloud next to the MSFS 2024 Premium package, suggesting it needs downloading - so I have to download it each and every time. 3) When I start MSFS 2024, by clicking the open button adjacent to the MSFS 2024 base package in the windows store - MSFS 2024 starts to open - but it is far from quick ( I have seen reports suggesting it opens much quicker than MSFS 2020) - it starts validating packages................takes about 7 minutes to get up to 17%.....................then races through to about 83%, and takes another 2 minutes or so to get to the start. 4) I have tried numerous times to select the cessna and put it on a runway - nothing happens, and I end up having to either quit to desktop, or use Ctrl, Alt and delete. I do appreciate it is early days, and there appears to be many bugs, but I am reading reports of other simmers being able to have flights, albeit it with issues - I cannot even get a plane on the runway. You are not alone. At the moment it appears Microsoft's server architecture is simply insufficient for the demand being placed on it. Since the majority of the working parts of the game seem to be streamed to us lots and lots of people are experiencing what you are too at the moment. I'm in the UK. Last night I actually managed a flight after installing Proton VPN free and got some idea of what the game is capable of. I don't think you're doing anything wrong and I don't think there's anything wrong with your system. The problem is the game itself and how it's delivered to us at the moment. Yesterday Western Europe seemed to suffer from this more than North America. We can only wait and see if Microsoft and Asobo manage to improve this situation right now.
