Artefact Problem

Featured Replies

Hi All,I need some help or an answer to this if someone knows .. I have a clean FSX install, no Tweaks, Addons or anything. Sitting in the stock 172 panning around in the cockpit I get these strange graphic errors.http://www.broders.net/test/fsx_grafik.jpgSP2, ATI 1950Pro, Catalyst 8.1 as well as the last Omega drivers. I am not getting any D3D errors in other applications thoughAnyone ?Thanks !

Hi Brody, what happens if you minimize the FSX window and then open e.g. a text file, close the file and then maximize FSX again?

Running on max (or near max) scenery/autogen? I got the same kind of artifacts until I used the /3G boot option to give FSX some more application memory space.

I even tried reinstalling Windows to make sure it is not a problem therein. Problem still persists either in Fullscreen or in windowed mode. Weired thing is, that other D3D games are perfectly fine. Temperature of the GFX Board is around 40C and the PSU should be fine with it's 420W. I tried using older Omega drivers as well as the Cat 8.1. Always the same.So I am out of ideas ....

I get that too on my nvidia 6800XT...There's a lot of that problem showing itself with various systems. I think it's a driver issue but not sure....

If I install the 169.21 drivers, I get the same artifacts with an eventual slowdown and crash of system. If Iuse the 169.13 beta's or the 169.38 beta's I get no artifacts. I can switch back and forth between them and the problem comes and goes. Now, since a lot of people are using the 21's with no problems I'm guessing it's a hit or miss. Just keep trying drivers until you get one that works.Q6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.38 betaKandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg
