November 22, 20241 yr I have noticed that my windows 11 rig does not isolate MSFS2024 threads on CCD0 like it does for MSFS2020. Is is detected by the Xbox game bar. I resort to using ProcessLasso to enforce CCD0 usage. But I also notice that FPS does not improve as much as it did in MSFS2020. @Cpt_Piett, do you have the same behavior. Update: scratch that. ProcessLasso affinity was causing hardlocks. The CPU can go over 50% so CCD0 can get into saturation. So maybe it is tagged not to isolation to CCD0? November 22, 20241 yr To be honest, I haven’t checked core behavior with 2024. I’ll have a closer look later this evening. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
November 22, 20241 yr Just checked. CCD1 in use while 2024 is running. A few cores on CCD1 active, but no different than 2020. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
November 22, 20241 yr I've been using process lasso ot keep MSFS 2020 on the V-Cache cores - never been an issue and there's a clear FPS advantage to doing so. I finally managed to get 2024 loaded and "working" so thought I'd test how much it benefits from the V-Cache cores. As you can see in this quick and dirty video, switching between the V-Cache cores and the high frequency cores (or indeed using all 16 cores), results in virtually no change to FPS (around 50 throughout). You'll note I have SMT off. Interestingly, when I enabled all cores, all cores were indeed being utilised, however there was no improvement in FPS. November 23, 20241 yr Author Yes, so the same as me. Thanks for the video. FYI, my freezes might not be caused by processlasso, as prior to this afternoon first patch, i had not been able to complete a single flight (cyul-cyyz) without a freeze (without processlasso that is) Vincent Rouleau AMD Ryzen 7950X3d / 64.0GB G.SKILL Neo DDR5 6000 / Gigabyte GeForce® RTX 4080 16Gig / / Samsung C49RG9 49' /ASUS PB287QQ ‑ 27" UHD / AGAMMIX 2TB / Samsung 970 PRO 1TB / PNY SSD 1TB / Windows 11 / Gigabyte B650M Elite Motherboard

Oh dear, typo - too late to edit original post. I meant that 2024 uses CCD0. The rest should be correct. I'm using AMD Ryzen Master to check core usage - just have to make sure that the sim is in focus. 12 hours ago, KL Oo said: As you can see in this quick and dirty video, switching between the V-Cache cores and the high frequency cores (or indeed using all 16 cores), results in virtually no change to FPS (around 50 throughout). November 23, 20241 yr Author Ok, so you are not the same as me. Are you still in ‘auto’ in the cppc BIOS setting? Was on "driver" for a while, but now back to "auto", which I think is default. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
