New deadly Virus?

Featured Replies

Was sent this report. Does anyone know whether this is genuine?>Hi everyone I checked with Norton Anti-virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!I checked snopes.com, and it is for real!! (Please go to this site and read about this virus) If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Sh ut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept. Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP. PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD' or 'INVITATION' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US.

According to Google, McAfee, Snoops.com and other anti-virus sites, the computer virus is real. Not a hoax. My friends told me about it last week.Jim

Yes,It was real in JULY 2007McAfee, Symantec and all the other anti-virus programs protect your computer just fine if you have current virus definitions. You certainly do not want to rush out and send e-mails to your friends and family.Everyone has been getting these e-mails for months now - and they have been cleaned up just fine by the AV programs.Even if the Anti-virus program did not catch the virus, your Windows computer is at no risk if you have kept up with the Windows operating system service packs and monthly security updates from Microsoft.

99 times out of 100, anytime you get an email urging you to send something to all your friends, it is total BS.JimDell XPS 420 Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 ghz3 gb dual channel 800 mhz DDR2 RAM512 mb nvidia 8800GT500 gb SATA drive 7200 rpmSoundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music22" Acer widescreen LCDWindows Vista Home Premium

you're conservative... I'd call it 100 out of 100 myself.

the only virus here is that email, which has suckers swamp mailservers causing high traffic which might bring underpowered servers and connections down.
