MSFS 2024 Status

Featured Replies

Hi all,

as I said I didn't touch my msfs 2020 at all while installing 2024 so the question is for me why to use 2024 instead.

For those who are interested I found the following:

After some struggle for example regarding the key assignments and more details overall it works now.

The B737 MAX, the A320neo, A400, the ATR, the default PC12, the H125, B407 and the Cowan B222 all work well. The A321 has very bad frames on my system.

My CS B777 and B767 from 2020 are loaded but the illumination of the entire AP elements does not work, it's too dark.

All extra paints from the marketplace in 2020 do not show up and I cannot copy it over.

My Carenado PC 12, C207 and the Bonanza from 2020 have no working illumination of some instruments, not really usable so far.

The funny Aerosoft "Simple Traffic" for 2020 does not work. Instead I have quiet a lot of online AI, but it's more a Airbus company event, no airline textures anywhere.

The scenery all in all is good but not better as it is in 2020. To switch off the photogrammetry I had to restart the sim.

Aircraft internal and external visuals are good, the water looks excellent and I like the weather preset "High Clouds". But have to load it all the time I start a flight.

So what is the summery? Why did they make the new sim instead of adding i.e. an A400 addon to 2020?

I think it's a new platform which is more suitable for the upcoming new technologies like extensive "Cloud Computing" and others.

New developement of future packages and modules will be based on this.

But currently it has the greatest difficulties to keep up with 2020. So who is interested to establish the new platform early can do it.

To replace a large installation of 2020 including complex addons with it won't work currently and I think this will last for longer.

Have done some shots of 2020 scenery addons which are copied over to community and work similar to 2020 but not better in any aspect.

Ford Island at Pearl Harbor, no animted water there, it's only textured.  6lTLGJj.jpeg

There is animated water around the city of Honululu again. 5i3sf9t.jpeg

And the Toronto scenery works as well but not better than in 2020 in any aspect.87DqqJ8.jpeg

Thank you PM! 🙂 And I don't agree at all, it's a working simulator.

I can fly the B737 and the A320 for example which are both good quality and all major functions and procedures work.

On the ground I have a very nice scenery made of aerial images with a lot of autogen, good quality.

I can also fly the helicopters and I just practice to find out how the settings work best and it's really not bad.

And this all works on a computer with 7 years old hardware and a graphics card on minimum specs with 30 frames.

What do you think will come out if you run it on your atom-powered new machine? You can set it all to ultra, will be great.

And on the long run they will fix a lot of word not allowed which is in now and hard to handle.

And it will perform better scenery and vegetation and people- and creature-flow, all what it is needed for a true world simulation.

Powered by streaming technology and it will not be available for 2020.

Cheers 😛

We will see later on..

I just don't see any point in swapping this error-ridden simulator for my MSFS2020, which works well in all aspects - at least not yet !

cheers 😉

Yes, right, you cannot replace your msfs 2020 with the new simulator, this won't work.

You will install 2024 later in any case because in 2 or 3 years some new features will only be available for 2024.

Have 2 shots here from LOWS. The trees look good and the Twotter works as well. It's not the most beautiful of the 3 available

models in the sims but it's ok. Has a KN AP but again the instrument lights do not really work. Seems to be another problem of 2024 generally.

Very nice bit of quintessential summary, Andreas...!

I've not tried all the airplanes you've tested already in MSFS2024. Actually, before the Patch, on the Xbox, I was pretty much hamstrung by many severe obstacles and limitations. However, after the Patch, things are looking up a bit for me...

I am surprised that the A321 caused you difficulty. This is one airplane that performed smoothly and flawlessly for me, so, I was bold enough to post here a set of (Xbox) pictures of it...🙂...

Hope it all gets better for you, but, of course, unlike me, you've a plethora of SIM platforms to fall back on ...🙂...

Thank you very much P_7878. If one of the other sims starts annoying me I fire up XPlane 11.

The best working sim....runs like my washing machine. 🙂
