File that improves landing lights

Featured Replies

Some time ago I downloaded a file which improved upon the overly-bright default landing lights for the Learjet (and other A/C). I need to locate this file again. I believe it was originally written for FS 9 but it also works in FSX. Does anyone happen to know the name of this file? Thanks,Bob

That .bmp will affect all FS9 aircraft being run in FSX, but it won't do a thing for FSX style landing lights...In FSX, the fx_landing.fx effects file is attached to a control node in the model itself. The .fx file uses only the fx_2.bmp in the ..effectstexture folder.

Nicks lightfix V2 has a replacement but you will need to manually decompress and move spotlight.bmp to the FSX main texture directoryI am using the same file for FSX however I did update it for FSX use in Nicks Lightfix X.. which has not been releasedThe X package will come as a total light replacement (airports, all aircraft, landing lights, towers, beacons) for FSX Here is the FSX version of the spotlight file and please backup the original:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/186442.zipNOTE: THAT FILE IS NOT TO BE USED BY ANY PACKAGE FREEWARE OR OTHERWISE WITHOUT MY EXPRESSED WRITTEN CONSENTThe new FSX Lightfix version will include the aircraft landing light elements on the plane itself, like what Bill posted about above but I think what you are after is the horrible ground beam which is what I posted above... It's more on the lines of xeon white/blue and I do have a yellow version too

Thanks much, Nick.
