Pilot2ATC refuses to start (servers down)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Previous anonymous lurker - this is my very first post, signed up on this forum just to post this message...

First, I am enjoying Pilot2ATC V3 a lot - thank you for the massive improvements over V2.

5 minutes ago I tried to enjoy Pilot2ATC V3 again, but it refused to properly start. I've received a startup time error as follows (showing the top part only):
"Host Connection Error. Unable to Initiate Session. Error: System.TimeoutException: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:00:59.8210052. Increase the timeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout
--> System.TimeoutException: The HTTP request to 'https://licmgr.p2atc.info/LicSvc.svc' has exceeded the allotted operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.
<snip>"

Once I dismiss that popup error box, application then displays a final error box: "Unable to init LicenseProvider".

As it did not seem to be working, just for testing purposes, outside Pilot2ATC I tried to visit that URL which returned the error below:
URL: https://licmgr.p2atc.info/LicSvc.svc
Error in web browser: The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 5d59414802b3ed9239b91082789fc0b6 6ab0777de7b0b7723c9466893ffdf3b6 e5414a60aaaacb0f081d5685ea9c74d6

I could be wrong, but if I am understanding it correctly, this software requires the license server(s) to be up & functional.
Right now, something is wrong with the license server(s) and thus software is not usable.

With this background, my two questions:
Question #1: When is the service going to be restored, is there an ETA?
Question #2: In the future, every time there is an unexpected issue, will all the Pilot2ATC users be disrupted again or do you have plans to implement any workarounds, such as a grace period of a few days?

P.S.: Thank you for developing Pilot2ATC, it is a game changer for me!

Thanks for the report.

The service rarely goes down and usually only for a few minutes when the ISP is doing maintenance or something.

Fortunately, it is back up now.

I will look into some sort of work-around for these short outages.

Dave

I am in. Excellent, thank you, Dave.
