Alps photoreal high resolution

Recommended Posts

Guest frank51

I am Frank, Italian that creates Alps sceneries for FSX. Some images of the "Dolomiti" (italy) with high resolution The application of the textures is with a complex technical method it deals as with a perspective graphic transformation with so ampler distorsion more the wall is vertical. (excuse me for my English)i95165_Civetta01.jpgThis is the "Civetta", very known dolomite with a vertical wall of over 1200 mt. (>3600 fts)i94811_tramonto10c.jpgi94810_NuvoleV2c.jpgThis is the Marmolada "the queen of the dolomiti"My Blog for further explanations : http://scenarialpinifsx.blogspot.com/Hi, Frank

Hi Frank,Impressive images. Your blog did'nt help me much because I don't read Italian. Are those from within FSX? Is this scenery under construction or downloadable somewhere? Is it freeware or payware?Edited: The video looks fantastic!Ulf B

Even if don't read Italian the images speak alone! All of my sceneries are downloadable and absolutely freeware In my Blog you find all the sceneries that I have already created in the right column. There is also the Cervino (matterhorn).i95331_pareteEtr4bc.jpgHi,Frank

Does your first picture show that you have found a way to reduce textures being stretched when covering vertical surfaces?

as I have already explained the application of the textures on the vertical surfaces it is complex. And' a system of perspective transformation with distorsion, use programs 3D and of projection geometryi95358_Cervino%38%300x.jpgHi,Frank

These look like wonderful textures, etc. They must be a remarkable freeware product, but I can't figure out how to download them. Can someone who has been successful offer detailed instructions. Thanks! Steve

Wow, that looks impressive! Pity (indeed) the blog is in italian... You should team up with someone who can translate it all!

Frank has done a wonderful job on these scenery files.. they are located in the lower left of his blog. The links will take you to a online download server, put in the numbers, click submit.. scroll to the bottom of the presented page and click downloadthey are not just textures... you can't get that detail and accuracy unless the scenery file under them is right. he spent many hours constructing these scenery files and texturesAnd I do think they are also hosted at some of the FS sites.. dont know exactly which ones though or if he uploaded them to AVSIMlook here in Franks blog Stevehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/186523.jpgyou can also use Bablefish to translate his webpage too

Thanks a lot Franck, they are wonderful textures:--)1) the download links are on the right side of the page, (blue background) :"Scenari by Frank recenti"2) create an "Italia" folder in Addon Scenery with a "scenery" sub-folder and drop the bgl files inside (or create individual folders for each mountain, that's exactly the same).3) add the new folder in the library. That's all!EDIT: Just seen Nick's post. Thanks mate!

First : thank you Frank for your wonderfull sceneries. I download many of them..... But - I didn't see the Marmolada scenery, WoW ! I can't wait to get home..... :) As I think that no one mention it earlier this could be usefull, I guess. If you can't understand Italian, go here : http://www.fsfile.com/6_FSX_ItalVFR_Addons.html I DL many from here ! Just one question : On your pics, we can see that area around of Matterhorn is perfectly fit into your photoreal textures of Matterhorn. I don't have that !!! So, I guess this is a PAYWARE, there are some of them as I can see on the page in link I give you. :( Am I right ?? Coz it look kind of wierd when you fly in default FSX textures and all the sudden you bump into this beautifull Matterhorn. Or Mont Blanc. Or Gran Paradiso, Marmolada,.... I got another question, actually.... Do you have any plans (or know someone who have) for doing this wonderfull job in - Himalaya ??!? I mean, Alpes are great, but Himalaya is Himalaya. I spend most of my flying time in this area, flying from one BiG mountain to another (and taking shots, like mad!).... I know this is a much bigger area but maybe a couple of the most famous mountains for a start ? Or am I left with mr Sandmann Everest photoreal textures only ?? (Hi Holger);) Anyway...sory for long topic and (many) questions from me. You doing really great job ! Nothing like I alredy seen.... Regards, shnala ______________________________________________

Amico dell'italiano di buon giorno! (Sorry - translated in Babel Fish) This looks simply amazing, Frank. I can't wait to give this a try later this evening. One thing perhaps: can you put a map on your blog showing the area covered by your scenery? That would be helpful. Grazie. :-)

Thanks of the compliments. This is the zone interested from my sceneries of mountain. The central point is " Cortina d' Ampezzo" I suggest to select summer season and central times of the day. Good flight!!i95508_mappa.jpgThe Marmolada will be in download tomorrowHi, Frank
