December 27, 20241 yr Howdy: I need some help please. I notice a huge FPS hit with clouds. Any suggestion on settings to help prevent that? Maybe less cloud layers or maybe I don't have my cloud textures (where ever that might be located) set correctly. Thank you! A. If you have clouds set to Ultra, try dialing them back to high which does improve performance considerably with minimal loss of visual quality. There are no settings for cloud textures as no textures are used to create the volumetric clouds. Personally I have never had significant performance issues due to clouds and weather in MSFS 2020, but they where definitely a performance hog in older sims including P3D and FSX.
