How to 'blur' autogen trees???

Featured Replies

Question for those used to making changes to autogen etc. What would be the best way to add 'blur' to autogen trees? The reason I ask is that one of draw-backs of existing autogen trees against base textures (default or GEX) is that they are too sharp in comparison and thus tend to stand out too much, as if sitting on top rather than blending into the texure. If one looks at real trees within an environment, they are not really that sharp unless one is right up close.I just felt that it may be worth experimenting with blur or soften on those autogen tree textures.Any ideas?Stuart

I'm no expert, I don't have GEX, but I've heard that you can completely turn default autogen off and GEX will do the rest. Sidenote: Is GEX worth getting?

There are replacement autogen tree textures that are supposed to blend better. I am using some right now, although I can't remember who made them to be honest. They are in the AVSIM File Library.I don't think they really blend much better than default, though, but you are welcome to try.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian
