January 6, 20251 yr Hey everybody, I'm experiencing a very strange problem with AAO and MSFS2020. When I start the sim and a flight, everything works perfectly. But after some time, AAO stops sending most commands in "Assigned Buttons" to the simulator. When I say most, it seems it's everything that is a RPN script. All of the axes work and even virtual events (e.g. instrument camera controls CTRL + a number that I have assigned to a hat switch). During this "fugue state" if I go to "Game controllers" settings in Windows I see all the devices as "OK" and in the properties I can see that Windows registers the button presses. This problem is rectified immediately when I bring the AAO window on top and in focus. And the funny thing is that the commands are "queued" somewhere because once I bring the window in focus, all of those commands run that I had clicked during that "fugue state". For example, if I press the "AP disconnect" button on my joystick nothing happens, but when I bring AAO in focus that AP disconnect gets run in the sim. I have blacklisted all other devices besides my active controllers. I have disabled vjoy in AAO. I'm running everything as an administrator. I have turned EPM off for my controllers and have also disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" from Windows settings for all controllers. This happens with all aircraft is not limited to a particular one or from a particular designer. All other addons I'm running that might interfere with SimConnect I believe are Fenix A320 (FenixBootstrapper.exe), Opentrack (head tracking software), BeyondATC and GSX Pro. Any guesses what might be causing this? Thanks already in advance!

Normally AAO is supposed to run "minimized" all the time, it should only be opened up when assigning stuff. Maybe you have a script or assignment in there, that at some point expects some kind of interaction (hence the focus thing?). But I have no clue what that could be - or how to diagnose that, sorry. "After some time" is way too unspecific to even take a guess. It would be great if you could narrow that down a bit. Does this happen every time, or is it only with a specific aircraft? What hardware are you using with AAO and how are you using it (game controlers, keyboard, StreamDeck, ...)? Are you using Autoscripts, Checklists, Conversations, Gauges? Speech Recognition or TTS? Any Javascript or VBScripting taking place? When in doubt, send me an email to the support address with your proof of purchase. Address is on the last page of the manual. I will need a fresh database backup file (Tools menu) and a description where all my questions above are answered... Edited January 6, 20251 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
January 6, 20251 yr This may explain an issue I am having whereby the sim stops receiving commands from stream deck. A restart of AxisandOhs solves the issue. I'll keep an eye on it and try to find a pattern.

(clicking twice on the main green LED) In general, AAO would detect SimConnect issues. If the API starts getting flooded or throws errors, the main LED turns yellow, then red - and then the app will reconnect to the sim automatically. Edited January 6, 20251 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI

The LED was yellow, I don't recall seeing it red though. I'll try clicking it twice next time rather than restarting the app completely. Edited January 6, 20251 yr by Dazzlercee23
