How long Should it Take to Update Rolling Cache?

Featured Replies

I just realized my Rolling Cache was set to "0". I changed it to 150 and it says it could take "Several minutes". I have been waiting a 1/2 hour, is that normal?

I actually can't change it at all. It is set at "0" and when I change it to anything, it says the process can take several minutes, but after a half hour nothing happens and I am forced to simply close the sim and restart.

Delete the rolling cache file - MSFS will re install it at next load at a default value of 16Gb.  You could try changing that to say 64Gb.  Remember the rolling cache file can't be made smaller. If you want to do that you will need to delete it again.

the filename is ROLLINGCACHE.CCC - mine is in C:\Users\rayke\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

50gb takes less than a minute on my system.

Went from 16gb to 150gb in about 5 minutes on my system.  It did say it would take several minutes and I didn't have any hiccups during the change.
