January 13, 20251 yr I'm awaiting delivery of a headset I ordered for use with Pilot2ATC v3 & XP12. First time to ever use voice. I've been a Radar Contact 4 user since 2004. I am a little confused, as I am hoping to use my new headset for atc communications and leave my nice audio system as the default windows 10 audio output for all XP12 sounds. Everything I've read tells me that for use with Pilot2ATC, the headset must be set up as the default audio devices. Is this correct? Or perhaps I can use the headphones as non-default audio output, selected in the output window of Pilot2ATC and mic as default input device. Then again, why can't I select headset mic as alternate input option since I have a nice boom mic on my pc desk that is the default input device? I know, I can do trial and error, but if someone already knows the answer, I would prefer confirmation one way or the other to shorten potential trouble shooting time. Thanks. January 14, 20251 yr Commercial Member You can set the Audio Output and Input devices in P2A, so you don't have to set your headset as the Windows defaults. However, if using a headset for output, you don't want to have another device used as input. That has been known to cause issues. I would recommend disconnecting your desktop mic while using P2ATC if something seems off. Dave
