January 14, 20251 yr Dave, I read the following from an archived thread and was curious if there have been any changes made in this regard in P2ATC v3: Quote Vectors will be given when called for in the Approach Transition or if the final intercept angle is too aggressive. Otherwise, when given clearance for the approach, the pilot is expected to intercept and fly the approach. Quote Generally, you will get vectors when the course from your route, or the end of the STAR if you have a STAR, is too steep for a good intercept. There are also some STARs where the last waypoint is of type "Manual Termination", in which case you will get vectors. Having been a Radar Contact 4 user for ~20 years, I have grown accustomed to requesting and flying full IAP ILS approaches without vectors from atc, for the majority of my airline flights. I'm hoping Pilot2ATC v3 will routinely afford me the same option. Thanks. January 14, 20251 yr Commercial Member IF you include the IAF in your flight plan by specifying it as the Transition for the approach, then you can expect not be given vectors. The purpose of vectors to a final approach is to avoid overshooting final by ensuring the aircraft is aligned with a 30 degree or less intercept angle. So if your route is aligned with final, you will likely not get any vectors. Dave
January 14, 20251 yr Author That's what I was hoping. Thanks, Dave! One other thing, if it's okay to ask in this thread, well it is atc related. Anyway, in the Pilot2ATC Setup window, ATC tab, ATC Settings section, I can't find a description for "Use Advance Pilot Interactions". Can you elaborate on this option? Thanks. January 15, 20251 yr Commercial Member That option, when turned off, gives the simplest possible copilot phrases, with not options to be selected by you. When you turn it off and press IFR Clearance, for example, it just gives you "<CallSIgn> ready to copy". If you turn it on, it will give you a list of several possible ways to request Clearance and you must select one of them. You may even have to select additional options, depending on the first option chosen. You can also turn this option on and off in the main screen by pressing the button with the copilot icon in the Smart Copilot area. Dave
