January 14, 20251 yr TLDR: honey is hijacking the ad revenue of reviewers. If I have misunderstood his 1.5 hour message, someone please correct me. I, uh, didn't watch the entire thing. Honey has been rebranded to Pie, which does the same thing: removes ads but pays you to see them if you prefer, redirecting ad revenue from the content creator to Pie and a bit to you too. For a while the only ad I saw on YouTube was for Pie. It seems to me to be a parasitic subversion of the advertising revenue system and should probably go away. Quite unlike "legitimate" ad blockers which shield us from the 83 ads you might see on some sites. AdBlockPlus at least has an option to show ads presented in an unobtrusive manner. So site managers have the option to present ads in an unobtrusive manner which will get through ABP. Hook Larry Hookins Oh!
