User Aircraft Not Showing

Featured Replies

Hi- The user aircraft you can download and install, most of them that I put in my sim don't even show up. Anybody know why this could be? I don't do more that the one texture to see if it shows up, and I don't waste my time doing some things that don't happen. Anybody know why they don't show up?

Do you see this when looking at your aircraft selection page?  Notice the things circled in red!

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Yes I do. The Manufactor is not visible, nor is the publisher or the aircraft type. Similar aircraft that are in the game show up instead.

Hi,

You need to carefully check every entry under that livery in the aircraft.cfg, ideally comparing it with the cfg of a similar aircraft that is showing up on the Select Aircraft menu. Even something as simple as a missing bracket around the fltsim entry can cause a failure of the aircraft livery to appear. Also you need to ensure that the fltsim.X entries are all in order starting with fltsim.0, followed by fltsim.1 etc

Yep, I have checked the aircraf's CFG file entry. Everything looks ok, but the aircraft still doesn't show.

I Still don't see the aircraft show up. I check everything. The air file in the cfg file and I check the texture file in there as well. There must be something that is wrong. Im just not sure what it is. I tried un-installingand re-installing the game. That didn't help. Anybody have any thoughts on what may be happening? Anybody else experiencing the same problem? Let me know.

This is an aircraft from some download from here or another site?  Is it a TDS product?  Does the
title= line have more than 127 characters including spaces?

Here's the most recent entry Aircraft CFG file I just installed now.

[fltsim.0]
title=Project Airbus A320-232
ui_variation=British Airways "Red Nose"
sim=pa320-v2527
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=
description=Project Airbus A320\nBritish Airways "Red Nose Day"\nG-EUUX\nRepainted by Xudeva Irribarra\n [email protected]\n\n
atc_id=G-EUUX
atc_airline=Speed Bird
atc_flight_number=2586
ui_manufacturer=Airbus
ui_type=A320-232
visual_damage=1
atc_heavy=0

Have a look and see if there is anything wrong. It's under Airbus for it's default manufactuer BUT when I go to the airbus menu, all I see is the default airbus 321's that come with the game. I don't see the aircraft I just recently installed.

OK if this is a new download what texture is it using?  Is it suppose to look like a default paintjjob?  Was there
a texture folder that came with that aircraft?

I only found 1 download for FSX that matches your aircraft.cfg from FlyawaySimulations.  The
download did not work for me!  One of the comments even said it didn't show for that guy.

Also does sim=pa320-v2527 look the same as your default airbuses that work OK?

I too downloaded that aircraft and it didn't show up for me either although I could not see any reason for that on cross checking entries in the aircraft.cfg.

Out of curiosity I then downloaded another Project Airbus A320 (Easyjet livery) and that didn't show up either! However looking at the labelling of the various folders in this particular addon and comparing those with the details in the aircraft.cfg the entries for both model and texture in the cfg were incompatible with the relevant folder names. Nevertheless even when I corrected these incompatibilities the Easyjet A320 still wouldn't show!

So clearly there is some inherent issue with running the PA A320 in FSX and I am at a loss to explain it.

If you are very keen on an A320 and want an A320 that will function in FSX the Just Flight payware version is cheap, looks good and flies well although it does not replicate the Airbus systems. For an accurate and very immersive replication of the Airbus systems, with a very nicely functioning FMC I can however highly recommend the Aerosoft A320 collection although that is more expensive.

So, it's not just me. I just installed a few liveries and it seems a few of them showed up. A handful didn't. I check after installing the livery to see that it installed correctly. Some show up and some don't. I'll keep trying.

No it's not you, it has been fairly frequently reported by others too it seems. I just wonder whether it is necessary to install some sort of Project Airbus A320 base pack for it to function as if you look at the screenshots in this thread on another forum (Simviation Forums • View topic - Project Airbus A320-100 Won't Install), where the issue was also discussed, you can see there appears to be a folder called PA32X_Common in addition to the other PA A320 folder. As I don't have the PA A320, I will leave it to you to research that further but, with a bit of luck, maybe someone who has experience with running the PA A320 on FSX might read this and provide you with a solution.

Thank you Bill for your help. I really appreciate it. I'll keep trying. I looked at some of the aircraft on the flight 1 site. The Airbus models are expensive, you're right. Can't afford them now. Maybe later. I'll keep trying with the airbus 320 and see what shows up.

For example: I download files from the historic Jetliners Group. Some will show upand others won't. I don't know why. Anybody else have this problem?
