January 28, 20251 yr Hello I'm looking to get these components in the next few days. Should this be pretty good for MSFS 2024? I'm replacing the Intel I7 8700K and will add 64 Gig of ram instead of 32 Gig. I have the RTX4070 super. 1x motherboard (MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI) 1x AMD 9800X3D 2x 32Gig of RAM (total 64Gig) (Higher the speed the better) (see above mention of the 4800MT/s) 1x PSU (I do like Corsair! 1000 or 12..MHz. 1x CORSAIR iCUE Link H100i RGB Liquid CPU Cooler - 240mm
January 28, 20251 yr I would get a minimum 4070ti Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. Windows 11 Pro loaded on a 4TB Gen5 Crucial T700 SSD, 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, Ryzen 9 7950x3d, AS Rock X670e Taichi Motherboard, Gigabyte Gaming RTX 4090 OC 24GB, 64GB (2x32GB) Viper Venom DDR5-6000MT/s, MSI 32" MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 260hz 4K Gaming Monitor.
January 28, 20251 yr Author Well just bought the 4070 super 2 months ago!!! You suggested the RTX 4080 Ti, because of the 16 Gig of VRAM, right? The reason I bought the super is that Microsoft requirements for MSFS2024 ideal specs show 12 Gig of VRAM!!!! I played MSFS 2024 and the VRAM leak is a real issue and I can soo my usage is very high almost 10.5 plus!!!! So AT the end it is really a Asobo problem that need to be solved, not buying a video card with more VRAM!! Edited January 28, 20251 yr by rolly
February 6, 20251 yr for the ram just get 2x32 sticks of whatever cl 30 ddr5 6000 ram you can swing for. Paying for the faster ram will provide next to a negligible user experience improvement. cl 30 6000 is the sweet spot for ddr5 at the moment. Just did the same for my setup....9800x3d will be here monday for me to drop into my new setup.
