February 16, 20251 yr SOCAL - Desert to Pacific We start in Amboy on Old Route 66, heading south to the Mexican border with stops at Twentynine Palms (KTNP), Chiriaco Summit (L77), Agua Caliente Springs (L54), Ocotillo (L90), and Jacumba (L78). The route then turns west to Reider Ranch (CA75) and north to On the Rocks (1CA6). We continue south towards Tijuana, landing at John Nichols Field (0CL3), Brown Field (KSDM), and Imperial Beach (KNRS), before turning north over San Diego Bay to Coronado, then to Montgomery-Gibbs (KYMF). Finally, we visit Gillespie (KSEE) and Ramona (KRNM), ending our journey along the coast at Oceanside (KOKB). Pre-flight Activity- Amboy Walkabout. This new version of Amboy is highly detailed and designed to be explored with MSFS 2024 in character mode. There are some very interesting nooks and crannies worth checking out. Let’s plan to do this 20 minutes or so before the scheduled departure. Flight Plan NOTAM: I was unable to load a flight plan into the EFB and avionics when Amboy (AR66) was selected as the departure airport. For this reason, the flightplan starts at Twentynine Palms (our first stop). Please load into Amboy (AM66) and then we will fly to KTNP before activating the flightplan. Flight Plan HERE I plan to fly the Cessna Caravan Recommended Freeware Airports (these were designed for MSFS2020 but most should work with MSFS2024. February 16, 20251 yr If you choose AM66 as the starting point in the flightplan, it does work.. Could the AR66 simply be a typo? 🫢 Edited February 16, 20251 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
February 17, 20251 yr Author AR66 was the airport identifier in the MSFS2020 version of Amboy that was in my little navmap database. I realized just this afternoon that AM66 should work. | Windows 11 | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | i9-14900K | RTX 4090 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 | 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | 2x 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | CORSAIR AX1600i ATX Titanium | LG C2 42 Inch 4K OLED |

Norm, you may still need the older code.. 😊 Edited February 17, 20251 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
