OMAA Timewarp

Featured Replies

Apparently the new Terminal A at Abu Dhabi airport has been open over a year, yet PSXT is parking all the traffic at the old former terminals. Any possible reason?

The Inibuilds version, not that that should have any bearing.

Yeah, the addon scenery probably does not have this new Terminal A, otherwise  PSXT would have parked traffic there. Note that traffic is real time (no timewarp), so the environment must be in timewarp ...)

Check your airport file for the parking positions, you get it when you are at OMAA, you can find it as \airports\park_airport.xml

It's a very recent scenery, and shows Terminal A visually. The Terminal A gates are all numbered 600 onwards. When I choose an MSFS parking location I can choose a gate in the 600 series. If I go to the GSX repositioning option, it also offers me a 600-onwards gate.

Yet the park_airport.xml gate numbers, "parkpos id", are in ranges g0 onwards and r0 onwards, but no g600 etc., and bear no relationship to any of the gate numbers at any of the terminals. Is it somehow picking up gate numbers from the default airport, wherever that is in the system, because that would probably be the old layout pre-terminal A?

I've been at that airport for a time now, and some aircraft are heading to Terminal A gates, but nothing is permanently parked there. But there's still a lot of aircraft at the old terminals, where they used to be 10 years ago!

BTW, PSXT shows this scenery as 'stock'. Is that relevant?

Yes, of course. You have the wrong airport file..., you must see INIBUILDS.  Are you in MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024?

And there's the answer.  Many thanks. I was setting the 'Install path' for 2024, not 2020, and Inibuilds OMAA was not in my 2024 Community folder, only the 2020 one.

A user interface suggestion - could there be two 'Install path' entries, suitably labelled? The manual is correct, but the 'ticked' = 2020 and 'unticked' =2024 is the sort of thing that catches out dummies like me!

There used to be two... But I merged them into one not long ago, to save space.

However, as you start PSXT, it will show in which mode it is, see the left top black box.
