Do we really need any further updates, W10 is quite stable now and private PCs are extremely unlikely to be subject to any attack caused by new flaws in the OS. And there is another option: use Windows 10 forever by simply using any software that 'sandboxes' or virtualizes each session ie. re-booting the PC deletes any changes to the hard disk since you started the session (it's the same type of software used in PCs made available to the general public). You'll never have to worry about viruses or updates making unwanted changes to your apps and PC. Example: Shadow Defender - the easiest PC/laptop security and privacy protection tool

I know nothing about LInux, what would be the problems of transferring/installing P3D and all the accompanying programs on Linux? Is it a viable proposition, being free after all? Anyone tried it? Yes. I've used multiple versions of Linux ... Mint, Ubuntu, Slackware, Red Hat, Centos.... and never with any flight sim. My advice: don't do it. Run. Life is too short. Your head will spin starting with selecting the correct "distro". There's probably a 100 different distros or versions (yes one hundred) to choose from: List of Linux distributions - Wikipedia EDIT1: I was curious and counted the items on the list above. I counted 259 different versions of Linux. If you find one that works with FSX or P3D please post here. Thank you. EDIT2: I forgot to mention that I've actually used another version of Linux. You can access and run it in Windows 10 for free by following this guide: Install WSL | Microsoft Learn Edited March 13, 20251 yr by Matt Sdeel
