On my camera in 2024 so as to make a switch from "chase"

view to, for example, "left" and make it permanent until I

In case you haven't yet figured it out.

Do you have a hat that allows you to look around the cockpit? If so assign commands to that same hat to look around in the external view (chase view). The commands you assign will be the exact same commands that by default were assigned to the mouse to look around in external view. Assign them to that hat. Now that hat will work in the cockpit and work in the external views in exactly the same way.

Switch to external view. Push the hat switch left or right to get the "left view" that your message says you for instance wanted.

Now switch back to cockpit view. And then back to external view. You will still see that "left view" external view instead of the default external view from directly behind the plane.

To get back to the default external view just push the button or keyboard key assigned to reset external view. It should be the same button or key that resets the cockpit view. If it isn't, then assign it. Then the same button or key resets cockpit view or outside view. I assigned it to also reset drone view.
