I love FEX but I have always been curious about something. Can anyone actually tell the difference between DXT5 and 32bit clouds? I've tried both settings and they both look equally good to me. Same thing when it comes to 1024 vs 4096. I simply do not notice the difference. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Cool, thank you. I will try that out tonight. What are your thoughts though regarding seeing the difference between DXT5 and 32bit?

Thank you.actually if you just run FEX before you start the sim, it will change this for you :)

Maurice, works like a charm for both frame rate and traffic changes. Thanks so much for the tip.Robert

So I guess the change was executed for me but then that brings me back to the question of whether or not I should be seeing a noticeable difference.

All this nonsense about having to set this is just confusing users. The program does it all for you. It all started because somebody early in the post confused users with technical jargon about max texture load = 4096. It's complete nonsense and shouldn't be posted here. I guess that person though the FEX guys did not know about this.Of course the FEX tech guys do know all about this which is why they got the program to do it for you.

For me, the difference with the SHD clouds was Just amazing, so much more detail in them, for the first time I felt like I was moving through cloud, and actually the sim runs better than it did before the upgrade even when it's overcast. Being based in the UK this for me is a major bonus :)In a way it's as if I've had a small cpu upgrade without the cost or disruption :)there's really no going back now, when you consider all I had to do was install the update, pick a theme and install.. that was it..CheersMaurice
