April 8, 20251 yr I thought I had VR with G2 in 2024 SU2 Beta all figured out. Good image at steady 40 FPS in all my VR sessions. Put the VR aside for a couple days. Now while in 2D 2024 I see 100+ FPS everywhere except highly detailed addon airports but still get 35 or FPS with mostly high settings at those airports. However, flying along at 2000' AGL/90 kts in the Ziln prop plane I see 100 FPS with the G2 plugged in but WMR not started. As soon as WMR starts but still in 2D the FPS drops to single digit. When I switch to VR the FPS drops to 1 or 2 and stays there. At times the sim does not respond for 10-seconds or more. As soon as I close the WMR window/terminate the process - the 2D FPS jumps back to 100+. As far as I can tell - all my VR settings remain as they were at 40 FPS in VR. I did reset all the VR settings to what I had noted a couple days ago and restarted the sim. As soon as WMR starts - no performance. What setting could have changed that I missed in my reset that so diminishes 2D and VR frame rate? I tried resetting the VR parms to lowest possible setting but still single digit FPS. April 9, 20251 yr I had something similar happen to me in Win 10 with a G2. I wasn't getting unworkable fps, but I was getting continuous crashes. It was so bad I gave up and bought a PCL and a whole new computer. It turned out quite a lot later to be a Windows update that had altered a crucial service that WMR relied on. I suspect that Microsoft will be happy to see the last of WMR and don't care how much its exit hurts their customers. Eventually, I got Win 10 upgraded to 11 where WMR and my G2 work together quite happily. Mike Beckwith
