Problems with installing the HJG 707

Featured Replies

Hello and good day

Today I tried installing the HJG 707 to FSX. I’ve read the official guide on how to install it for FSX instead of FS9 (delete aircraft.cfg and instead use aircraft_fsx.cfg, etc), put it in the correct folder (this pc -> local disk -> programs (x86) -> steam -> steam apps -> common -> fsx -> simobjects -> airplanes), installed a livery and put the correct number into the XX, yet it still won’t show up. I restarted my pc and FSX but it still won’t show up. Does anyone have a idea why?

Thank you

Make sure your Aircraft Select screen looks like this:  Pay attention to what is circled in RED.

Maybe list your aircraft.cfg portion for [fltsim.0]-[fltsim.XX] just to compare the new aircraft with what is
already showing OK.

What panel is it trying to use?  That may be what's keeping it from showing.

I just tried the download and here is the panel.....[fltsim] alias=B747_400\panel

I'm willing to be that you don't have the 747_400 panel in your sim.

Yes but you can download the 707 panel, that’s what I did

OK,  how is the panel folder titled?  panel or a specific name?   I noticed the 1959 707-120 panel folder
was labeled 707-120.

Then you need to do this:

[fltsim.0]
title=HJG B707-120 Pan Am 1958 N707PA
sim=B707-120
model=04

atc_flight_number=120

The last thing I can think of is to make sure you have model.04 in your aircraft folder.  If it's there, then I'm
baffled!

Just to be sure...You see this at the top of the aircraft.cfg?

//HJG B707-120 V7.1 (FSX)

I'm asking because of what you said in your first post:

"I’ve read the official guide on how to install it for FSX instead of FS9"

On the top of aircraft_fsx.cfg it says "//HJG B707-120 V7.1 (FSX)"

Yes, the model.04 File is there. There is a model.cfg which says

"[models]

normal=B707_120A_4". Can’t open B707_120A_4.mdl though

OK, my last dumb question...I noticed no thumbnail.jpg in that addon Pan Am texture.  Could it be that
you don't see a pic in your Aircraft Selection screen because it's just showing the generic airplane pic
instead?

Do you have any pics that look like this?
