April 12, 20251 yr Author after restarting everything multiple times, it showed up! Unfortunately with some issues. Panel or cockpit? None. Windows, gears and rudders are pitch blac. Here is a photo

April 12, 20251 yr Administrators Your pic looks like a textures problem. Is that American Airlines texture correct for the model? April 12, 20251 yr Author I don’t know, maybe. It said there were 8 liveries pre installed which I all saw in the aircraft.cfg file but not in FSX. When I try to install a extra livery it doesn’t show up either
April 12, 20251 yr Administrators One thing you might want to consider trying just in case you may have some corrupted files: To verify your game files please do the following: 1. Load the Steam platform and log into your account 2. Click the Library tab in the menu at the top of the screen 3. Click the List View from the view options on the top right of the screen 4. Right click on Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition to bring up a popup menu 5. Click on Properties from the popup menu to bring up another popup box 6. Click on Local files from the popup box menu 7. Click on Verify integrity of game cache from the Local file options 8. Wait for the progress bar to finish verifying your files. Additional files may download 9. Restart Steam 10. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition or 1. Log on to Steam 2. Select "View Games Library" from the "Games" menu 3. Right-click the Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition icon and select "Properties" 4. Select the "Local Files" tab and click on "Verify Integrity of Games Cache" Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. When I try to install a extra livery it doesn’t show up either Hi, Did you download the 707 from the HJG website? As far as I can see, the HJG 707 Base Packs do not contain any pre-installed liveries but instead you download the ones you want for the particular 707 version from the repaint list beside the Base Pack. You seem to suggest you are also missing the panel? Have you followed the precise instrucions given by HJG for installing this into FSX? Bill
April 12, 20251 yr Author I downloaded it from https://www.fs2000.org/2007/12/14/fsx-boeing-707-120/ I didn’t see a FSFSCONV folder so instead I put the panel into the panel folder
April 12, 20251 yr Administrators Sorry, I trust anything from David Grindele about as far as I can spit. I usually dribble it down my chin! 🥺 Had a bad feeling you downloaded some garbage. Several years ago he had some downloads at another site that were several gigabytes big for 1 aircraft. Tons of garbage effects files and textures including movies and soft-core porn. https://simviation.com/hjg/aircraft2/boeing/b707-120.htm Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. OK, out of curiosity, I downloaded and installed the HJG 707-120 together with the panel and the American Airlines livery for that model. The external model all seems ok with no black patches on the American Airlines livery and the cockpit panel (only a 2D cockpit) is present although a couple of gauges are missing and many of those present do not function. I suspect they are relying on FS9 gauges which are just not present in FSX. If you are a huge fan of the 707, I can recommend the Captain SIm payware version - it is not perfect but so much better than the HJG version with a lovely virtual cockpit and external model. At present there is a sale on at Captain SIm (these don't usually last long) which is the time to buy as their normal prices are somewhat on the high side. Bill

Looking at their website (Captain Sim – Online Store), unfortunately it seems that it is only for FSX SP2 or Acceleration which is a pity as their 727 and 737 appear to be available for FSX-SE. However there is a free demo option for the 707 if you click 'More Info' so you could try it in FSX-SE and see if it works! Bill
June 30, 2025Jun 30 Only just seen this through being overseas for 3 months. Firstly .... the HJG B707's are FSX portable as are their panels too. A couple of "FSX based" videos demonstrating this fact .... All work fine in FSX "provided they're installed correctly" but which doesn't appear to be the case in this particular case .... otherwise there wouldn't be any issues at all. As stated on the HJG forum .... it's not practical for the group to provide tech support on other forums, so, the OP needs to go to the HJG forum, log-on, and present his query there. That's why this posting's only just been spotted .... the group can't possibly monitor everything everywhere else. In particular note the OP's above comment in regard to the Panel not working .... and from his description (some gauges missing and nothing else working) I wouldn't mind betting the OP's failed to install the essential and separate Panel Gauges/Core Files element of these simulations. If still around after all this time .... we invite the OP to post his query at HJG and could (likely) have saved him a lot of grief had he done so in the first instance 🙂 MRC
