April 14, 20251 yr Hi there. I have an ongoing issue with the Editor in that I cannot get it to drag down an action after selecting it. I left click to select the action, but when I hold down the left mouse button, I cannot get the action to drag down into my profile. I have an SD+ and I am trying to drag from other Streamdeck versio profiles, to make use of the actions in them. Could this be the problem? Can I only drag from another SD+ profile? I cannot get an action to duplicate either. I would love to get the Editor to work, as it is a great thing to have and seems so simple to use. Any thoughts 0n what I am doing wrong? Thanks. p.s. I have previously posted about this issue, but have not tried the Editor for a long time. I am returning to it now, but still have the original issue of not being able to drag actions.
April 15, 20251 yr Commercial Member Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately there is no solution that I know of. I remember that on some computers people were unable to drag Actions around, but it has never been cleared up why that was the case. And since the StreamDeck software version 6.0 the Editor was basically obsolete, due to the limitations that this version brought, and development was halted with version 1.08. I only kept it alive for the streaming gauge, where you need the Editor to generate pictures of the non-AAO actions. LORBY-SI
April 16, 20251 yr Author Hello again. Ah, okay. Thanks for the input. I'll keep trying with the editor. I don't wish to pester you with this, but may I ask what difference the StreamDeck software version 6.0 makes. I'm not a techie, so may not fully understand what the update will do. I'll go and check and pdf docs for it. Many thanks.

In that version Elgato decided to encrypt the IDs of the StreamDeck profiles and their pages. That means that the editor can no longer create or delete profiles or pages, or create links between them (to call up one page from the other). All that you can do is drag actions around between existing pages - which is already possible with the native Elgato software. Edited April 16, 20251 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
April 16, 20251 yr Author Ah, sure thing. I'm already doing that within my SD+. I feel that the editor gives me more of a visual look to it, and I can see the actions that are available in a more graphic way. I'll keep trying the editor, though. No need to reply. I know that you are always busy with other folks. Cheers.

You are correct, dragging from/to SD+ profiles is not working - at all. It is not you, in essence the actions for the keypad and those on the rotaries are overwriting each other when the profile is being loaded into the display panel, and you end up with a broken profile. I only just found out about this while integrating the new logic for the Mirabox devices. I will see what can be done about this over the weekend. I may have to rewrite large-ish portions of the editor to deal with this. Edited May 8, 20251 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI
