Aerosoft AN-2 and Twin Otter in P3Dv5

Featured Replies

Hey,

Does anyone know if the Aerosoft An-2 and the Twin Otter work properly in P3Dv5 on Windows 11 with the 24H2 update? I know it messes up the Aerosoft Airbus series, but does it affect other Aerosoft aircraft?

Thanks in advance,

Csanád

Hi,

I use the Twin Otter in P3D 5.4 under WIN 11 without any problem.

How about V5.4 on Windows 10?  Always one of favorites in P3D.  Referring to the Otter.

Thanks

Before my upgarde to WIN 11 I had the Twin Otter running under P3D V5.4 and Windows 10.

I'm running Win10 22H2 and P3D 4.5 & 5.3 (I've found these versions are very stable without the introduced bugs of later releases).

While I cannot comment on the An-2 as I don't have it, I do have the Twotter having purchased it originally for FSX and then updating it to P3D 64 bit where I run it in both P3D v4.5 & v5.3.

For the Twotter I fixed a few errors logged and installed IceFun lua scripting to ice up the control surfaces in freezing rain, which works quite well, where you certainly want to avoid flying into icing conditions.

The only thing I've found a bit annoying is the window dirt/crazing, where in v5.3 it's more pronounced than in v4.5, just enough to be a bit of an annoyance, does depend on the angle of the sun though.

The Twotter in FSX was quite resource consuming, however in P3D x64 versions its performance is really good, I generally fly it @ 60 or 120 fps depending on how GPU intensive the flying area is, noting I use the combo of RTSS & Lossless Scaling for smooth vsyn'd flying.

A few pics from P3D v5.3.

This is at one of the Airports of the Aerosoft Lukla Extreme package, a great package I'd recommend easily. Includes a very large photo real area with many airports and helipads.

A hot start fire, one must adhere to the proper starting checklist and a great interactive checklist is included.

The annoying Window markings, yeah they are there in P3D v4.5 but not quite as pronounced. They disappear when the sun angle changes.

Okay, going to give a try and fresh download for V5.4.  I'll keep you all informed.

Again, been back into simming for about 5 days now, be patient and any suggestions welcome.

Can't get it to install in V5.4.  Keeps looking for  a sim to install it in?  I try the P3D V4 option, but no go.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yeah, the installer doesn't appear to have been updated to identify beyond P3D v4.

However, if you choose the P3D v4 option and click "Next", you should get a choice to browse to the P3D install root folder and then the install should carry on as per normal.

Alternatively you can dummy up a set of registry keys for P3D v4 that point to the P3d v5 install location, that way you can bypass the folder browse option.

The article below has details on configuring a set of keys.
