April 22, 20251 yr A while ago, I'd attempted to fly this Asobo/MSFS (Stock) Cessna Citation CJ4 in MSFS2024. However, the livery textures of the a/c had seemed to flicker and tear from my external view, so, I had to postpone the flight with it. Today, I made another attempt, and the textures issue seems to have been resolved now. So, this is my first ever (successful) flight with the CJ4 in MSFS2024, though, I recall, flying it often in MSFS2020. I am flying, here, in the Southern-most section of California in and around French Valley, departing from McClellan–Palomar Airport (KCRQ), which is located ~30 miles north of San Diego, with the Pacific Ocean just a short distance away (see images). I am then travelling northward in a circular (CCW) route around the picturesque valleys and the scenic mountains of Southern California (see EFB Map for my route). Per on-line descriptions, "This region is distinguished by natural, rolling hills with a big, open sky overhead, and in winter, the snow-capped peaks of Mount San Jacinto and Palomar Mountain, as well as Mount San Bernardino and Mount San Gorgonio to the north, circle the valley's panoramic vistas." If you examine my images below, you'll see that this description is indeed befitting. As I travel here in dusk light, these mountains seem to be playing hide & seek in the golden light of the setting sun... To complete my journey, I've reverted back southward to my original airport to finally land on ILS Runway 24 of KCRQ/McClellan–Palomar Airport (see one image of the quaint (KCRQ) airport and tower). The CJ4 performed flawlessly today on my short test flight (for both GPS navigation and ILS Approach; auto-tuned Localizer Frequency is always welcome in an a/c and reduces pilot workload...🙂...), so, I could complete my (entire) scenic excursion of this beautiful region of Southern California...without any issue at all...from takeoff to touchdown... It was a fun flight...in the luxurious comfort of this iconic (Cessna) private business jet...🙂... Hope you enjoy this collection of images...of aircraft and scenery...! Thanks for viewing...!

April 22, 20251 yr Great set! Inspired by your post, I went to KCRQ last night and explored the whole area (MS2020/PG) in a C182T. One of my most enjoyable flights to date, so thanks!!
April 27, 20251 yr Author pmplayer, John and Will, thanks for much the kind words, and all for the enthusiastic responses...🙂...cannot go wrong with California... One of my most enjoyable flights to date, so thanks!! Glad you got to visit this airport and vicinity, John. I recall, though KCRQ is a default/hand-crafted airport in MSFS2024, I'd to selectively enable streaming of it to be active in the SIM. In MSFS2020, it's probably there by default without the need for selective installation. Anyway enjoy...PG is nice when it works...🙂...! Edited April 27, 20251 yr by P_7878
