Opening windows 10 and up

Featured Replies

Okay, I probably should have asked this question way back in my FSX days because FSX works the same way in this matter. But It wasn't that big of a deal back then. What I'm talking about is opening windows. Not full screen windows like you get with [ and ]. I'm talking about the windows where you open up a radio stack or a nav panel... some kind of instrument or radio. My question is this... I have a plane that has almost 40 of these windows available. For windows 1-9, you simply do SHIFT + 1-9. Easy. How do you open up 10 and higher? How do you open the double digit windows?
I know, how is it that someone that's been flying FSX and P3D since they came out doesn't know this. Well, I don't. But now I need to know cuz this plane has windows i need to open.

You can only open 2D panels (windows as you call them) that are bound to (shift+) 1 through 9 keys in FSX and P3D.  In FSX and P3D there is an option from the drop down menu that will allow you to open 2D panels that go higher than 9.

In P3D, if you press the Alt key to open the menu bar at the top of the screen, you can select the other 2D panels (10 and up) by selecting Vehicle from the menu, then hovering the mouse over the menu option labeled Instrument Panel.  When you do this, you will see another menu appear that shows a list of all of the 2D panels that the aircraft has, regardless of the number used.  FSX has a similar way but I forget which menu option it is called.

Also, some 2D panels have buttons on them that correspond to number 10 and higher, so you click the button to open the next panel or feature instead of pressing Shift + # key.

Do not feel bad, I still am learning things all the time that I should have known years ago lol 🙂
