July 17, 200817 yr I have just noticed that the "RESIDENT SHIELD" part of my freeware AVG anti-virus is setup to scan Executable files and other "infectable " files. The list of files to be scanned includes XML and BMP files.I have never really noticed AVG using any CPU time while flying FSx - but I am curious now about this -- any thoughts please??Thanks Barry
July 18, 200817 yr As far as I can tell the AVG Resident Shield only scans files coming in from remote sources such as the internet or LAN, in which case your FSX executables are not affected in any way. The only time your executables are scanned is when AVG runs the scheduled scans which happens to be every day in the AVG setup I've got on my rig.Mike. Mike Beckwith
