Question about weather overlay using OpenWeatherMap

Featured Replies

Dear Alex,

First of all, thank you for the amazing work on Little Navmap — it’s an essential tool in my simulator setup.

I would like to ask whether it is currently possible (or planned for a future version) to overlay real-world weather data from sources like OpenWeatherMap directly onto the map in Little Navmap — independent from the simulator’s built-in weather system.

Specifically, I’m interested in visualising different weather layers such as:

  • Temperature

  • Pressure

  • Clouds

  • Precipitation

Ideally, it would be great to be able to toggle these layers individually, similar to what we can see in some online weather maps.

Would this kind of integration be feasible within Little Navmap’s architecture, either natively or via plugin/API support?

Thanks in advance for your time, and again for your great work!

Best regards,
Carlos Teixeira

Hello, this option would be a great plus for visualizing one's route during the flight.

I am planning my route in LNM then export it as .gpx file and load it into Windy.

This is great as I fly in different regions wit Onair and have to use historical weather sometimes.

It works perfectly. While waiting for a possible update, I will use this method.
Best regards.
