Need Help Understanding DLSS version in FS 2024

Featured Replies

I really need Help Understanding DLSS version in FS 2024 1.5.18.0.  The .18 version of the Beta is working very well for me and I have few complaints about it.

The folder that contains FlightSimulator2024.exe also contains nvngx-dlssg.dll and nvngx-dlss.dll. Both modules are 310.3.0 created 6/18/25

DLSS Swapper also tells me the 310.3.0 DLSS modules are applied

But when the sim is running - the overlay at the bottom left shows "DLSSv310.2.1 (nvapp-override) Preset K"

There are NO 310.2.1 dll modules in the FS2024 folder.

And, what I am really confused about is that there are NO nvngx-dlss modules loaded and running when the sim is running.

Does the overlay show the correct dll version?
How does the sim call the dll code when there is no nvngx-dlss module of any kind loaded anywhere in my Win 11 execution space.

I thought I understood how .dll modules work but it seems I am missing something very basic.

Upon further examination, I find in the FlightSimulator2024.exe process the following modules:

160_E658700.bin version 310.2.1.0  and 160_E658700.bin (FG code) version 310.2.00 and they are loaded from an nVidia repository of DLSS versions

So what have I done to tell the sim to load those binary files from an nVidia library?

nVidiaProfileInspector shows "Enable DLSS-FG-override" to be 0x0000001 as are the RR override and SR override.

The Override DLSS-RR Preset and SR preset are both 0x00FFFFFF

nVidiaApp DLSS Override Model PResets is "use different..."

DLSS Override Frame Gen and DLSS Override Super Resolution are both Use 3D..."

I don't understand how those settings force the use of 310.2.0

This means the nvidia App is overriding the DLSS.   I know I know...you have already tried to get the app to stop...

I actually uninstalled the nvidia app to stop this behavior, and now I have my DLSS version set using DLSS Swapper.   I wasn't able to get the App to stop overriding no matter what setting I used.  This may be what you're finding too.  I don't know if it's a bug or my incompetence, but I couldn't get the App to stop overriding.

Problem Solved - Mystery Deepens

my DLSS info display now shows FS2024 is using DLSS version 310.3.0.  I do not understand why the sim is now using 310.3.0 because all I did was:

in the nVidiaApp I changed VidiaApp DLSS Override Model PResets from "use different..." to "Use the 3D application setting"

It seems to me those two settings (use different and use the 3D app) have the same result because "use different settings for each DLSS technology" resulted in Frame Generation and Super Resolution both being set to "use 3D app settings"

Oh Well - everything is now working very well in Beta 1.5.18.0
