Major issue loading in 2020

Featured Replies

So all of the sudden, this evening, I load into msfs 2020 just fine. Then when loading into an airport, the blue bar loads and loads, goes all the way over but never loads into the sim. The music continues to play and the messages change on the bottom like it’s still loading in. I have over 1,000 hours into this game and haven’t seen this happen. I restarted my pc, didn’t fix it. I flew last night, no issues, I haven’t changed anything in the sim the last 24 hours. Using windows 10.

please help, I have no idea what’s going on.

Over the last hour or so I was able to load into a flight a few times but then like on the 4th try, it loaded and stopped and wouldn’t load anymore into the sim

had the same problem, try this....no need to reboot

Some things to check my friend...not sure which is the cure...for sure

If you have an Xbox account, check to see if your account needs an update.

Check that your date and time (PC)...sometimes that goes haywire.

I have encountered an experience or two like you described and one of those helped...believing the Xbox account update was it.

Date and time is fine.

Negative.

Steam is a different story, one of which I'm not familiar.

If the time on your PC is synchronized, then I suspect a Microsoft moment 🤒

So I can load into a flight with online functionality off just fine but as soon as I turn on online back, it won’t load in…

Any ideas?

Sounds either network or server-related to me.

I'd start with a reset of my home network--i.e. reboot both router and modem. If using a VPN, try without it, or by using a VPN server in a different region to get to a different Azure server.

Tried this, still didn’t work.

not using a VPN

This happened to me a few weeks back, where all of a sudden I could not get passed the world map screen and as soon as I select an airport the sim just hangs. The only change to my system was a Nvidia driver update a few days back. I rolled back to an old driver released in December and all started working again. Don't know why that is though.

So it appears to be working again.

Not sure if msfs servers are working  properly again but I installed SU16 beta and installed an optional windows update and all seems to be working again…..

No idea but I’ll take it

Had the same problem on PC version msfs2020. loading sim 7 mins , loading my local airport almost 8 mins. I timed it. have deleted everything I am not using and its made a difference of about 1 min to the sim loading times but airport loading times are just the same.
