October 10, 200817 yr I have had a little break from FSX (2-3 months) and this is what i'm greeted with now.http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/0nn...-57-656copy.jpghttp://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/0nn...7-3-578copy.jpghttp://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/0nn...-16-828copy.jpgPlease can someone help?I haven't changed any settings, graphics card isn't overclocked in any way.Any ideas welcome!
October 10, 200817 yr Looks like a graphics card or graphics setting problem.Try adjusting sliders down to 50% and reducing frame rate for starters. If you have not changed anything since the last time you used FSX,you may have a hardware problem. If you have fans not working, either on the computer or the graphics card. It may be due to overheating or failure of the graphics card.Hope this helps.Ron Ron Service .
October 11, 200817 yr I have this same problem when I use a driver newer than Vista 169.25 or XP 169.21.Try them and I think that will fix your problem.System:Dell XPS 720 H2CIntel Quad Core Extreme QX6800 @ 3.73GHz2GB Corsair Dominator EPP 8500C5D 800MHz FSB 1066 MHz2x160GB WD SATA Raptors, Sound Blaster X-FiNvidia 2x8800GTX 768MB SLI, Dell 2407WFP PanelXP driver: 169.21, Vista driver: 169.25Logitech Z680 5.1 Speakers, G5 Mouse, Saitek X52WinXP Media Edition SP3 on C: (SATA 0)Vista SP1 on D: (SATA 1) (Dual Boot)3DMark06: 17,018/6992/7123/5667
October 12, 200817 yr thanks for the replies, actually thinking about it, the only thing that has changed has been the graphics card driver.Gfx glitches started with catalyst 8.8 and also 8.9 but I will open up the comp and give the fans a clean tomorrow and let you know what happens.Cheers.=)
October 13, 200817 yr OK, today I opened the case and gave it a good hoover, the CPU heatsink was very dusty, the graphics card not so much.Gave FSX a try and sure enough the graphically glitches reared their ugly heads again, so I un-installed the ATI Catalyst v8.9 driver and installed the Omega drivers for ATI cards and now the glitches have gone away :)Thanks for all your replies, much obliged.http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/0nn...s/me-in-il2.jpg
October 14, 200817 yr Hello, sorry to drag the thread on, but yesterday the glitches came back even with the Omega radeon drivers. I pinned the glitches down to putting the autogen density slider to maximum.Very odd, is anyone else having this problem. Anyone with autogen density on maximum with zero problems?http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/0nn...s/me-in-il2.jpg
October 14, 200817 yr Now it does it with any autogen, even minimum.I have to switch off autogen just to play.
