August 8, 2025Aug 8 Hopefully someone can help me out. I can no longer launch MSFS2020. I get the "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I have the MS Store version. I have rebooted, reinstalled twice to two different drives, ran from Addon Linker (it doesn't do anything), MS Store, and XBox App, all to no avail. Before someone says "Change your permissions" or "run as administrator", the executable is located in the WindowsApps folder which I can't access. BTW, my Steam version of MSFS2024 works fine. Thank you.

Thank you. Win 11? Try this: right-click the MSFS 2020 icon. Select App settings. Under App settings, scroll down to Reset and choose the Repair option button, NOT the Reset button. Now try to launch.
