August 12, 2025Aug 12 Guys hi, I’m a new poster, and have a problem with the DLSS-to-FSR3 tweak <here>. My specs are as follows: MSFS2020 Win10 Asus ROG STRIX Z690E Nvidia ROG STRIX 3080 12GB 32GB RAM DDR5 I had been using the DLSS-to-FSR3 tweak since it was released in Jan 2024 with no problem, including with the Nvidia app installed on my PC, until… SU16. Since SU16, “Frame Generation” doesn’t show in the Graphics options of MSFS2020 unless I do the following: - Uninstall the Nvidia app - Reinstall the Nvidia app - Uninstall the Nvidia app If I do that, Frame Generation will appear in the Graphics options of MSFS2020, but only once, as in until I shut down the sim. If I then re-launch the sim a second time, Frame Generation won’t appear. At which point I will need to reinstall the Nvidia app, and uninstall it. At which point I will be able to launch the sim and Frame Generation will show in the Graphics settings, but again, once only. And so forth. In other words, every time I want to use the sim with Frame Generation, I need to first install the Nvidia app, and uninstall it ! This is an extremely bizarre issue. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on ?... I have tried the most recent Nvidia drivers (580.88) and older ones, but this doesn’t affect the results.
August 12, 2025Aug 12 Uninstall the Nvidia App and then make sure MSFS is running in DX12 mode. Hope this helps. Edit: don't forget to reinstall the mod after having uninstalled the Nvidia app. Edited August 12, 2025Aug 12 by Luis Hernandez Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. August 16, 2025Aug 16 I've had the same problem with SU16. There is a way I saw to restore the frame gen option, but I hesitate to recommend it yet as I'm still testing if there's a detrimental impact on graphics. In any event, if you download the Universal version of dlssg_to_fsr3 and copy the file winhttp.dll into the same folder as your other frame gen files, and reboot the sim, the option will again be available. Do not know why or how this works. But... Since I did that I've been having some problems with my graphics quality -- but I'm not sure if it is merely coincidental, or SU16's fault, or what the problem is. So, proceed at your own risk! rtx3070, win11, msfs2020
August 16, 2025Aug 16 This is an issue with updated Nvidia drivers breaking the Frame Gen Mod, not down to Sim update 16 or the Nvidia App. The workaround for me pending a hopeful fix of the Frame Gen Mod was to roll back to Nvidia driver version 577.00 and the Frame Generation option reappears in MSFS 2020 and any other sim/game you've added the mod to.

Could be. But in my case at least I've been on 572.70 since before SU16 without any problem. And haven't updated that March driver. It was only after SU16 that frame gen seemed to spontaneously disappear. Might be coincidence or something else. Don't know. Maybe I should roll forward to 577?! rtx3070, win11, msfs2020
August 16, 2025Aug 16 I've simply rolled back the driver and uninstalled the Nvidia App. Not what I really wanted to do, but it now works. My MSFS was performing well and I don't want anything changed.

My MSFS was performing well and I don't want anything changed. I have always used 566.36 (or .14), the most solid driver for 30xxx IMO. Nvidia App occassionally gave me black screen upon start up too. DA B760M PRO4 | i5-13400F | RTX 3060 12 GB | G.Skills Ripjaws 32GB | MSI MAG A550BN | Ace Power 1 TB NVMe | Cooler Master Hyper 212
August 24, 2025Aug 24 Worked on this a bit more. Deleted the file winhttp.dll that was suggested above, and that solved the graphics problem I was having but also removed the frame gen option again. I rolled back to 566.36 based on community recommendations (just for the heck of it), recopied the frame gen files and registry edit, but that alone did not restore the frame gen option for me (with pc and sim restarts). However I also didn't uninstall the nvidia app. After reviewing some of the forum discussions at github and nexusmods, I followed someone's suggestion of putting the version.dll file (from the mod) into the sim folder, and so far that's done the trick. I haven't tested things fully yet. But for now I have the frame gen option back, proper sim graphics and also the nvidia app with its color filters (which I didn't want to lose). Your mileage may vary, or course. rtx3070, win11, msfs2020
