August 20, 2025Aug 20 ...🙂...As a certain idiom says, "One thing led to another". This past weekend, I was an (unwilling) participant in a family event at the local Tae Kwon Do studio. No, I did not break any boards or any such other (hard) objects there...🙂...but was merely a silent witness to the various activities on-going in the location. Once we were done there, we caught sight of a Dunkin' store (formerly Dunkin' Donuts) right next door. So, I chose to stop by there just to recuperate the calories I'd lost...🙂...at the Tae Kwon Do studio, after watching the aforesaid activities and techniques, and also been forced to listen to the loud and sharp shouts and yells (referred to as "kihap") used during these activities.  At the Dunkin' store, I ordered a couple of "Chocolate Dipped French Crullers"... (only 280 Calories each...🙂...). Then after I got back home, I wished to fly today the (default/iniBuilds) Airbus A320neo V2. So, I re-streamed back (aka enabled), from My Library, all the repaint packs of this A320neo V2 (quite a large number of it, I might add) that I'd previously acquired. There among all the liveries, stood out, rather conspicuously, one vibrant (special) edition of jetBlue in the Dunkin' colors, painted so, in the RW, to signify and honor the longstanding partnership between jetBlue Airways and Dunkin' Donuts. This jetBlue Airbus A320, registered as N643JB (same as what you see in my images below), is smartly nicknamed "Brewing Altitude" (which marking can be also spotted in my screenshots). This special livery features Dunkin's signature bright pink and orange colors, with a donut and coffee cup on the tail. Once my mind was set on the livery, the next challenge was where to fly this Dunkin' A320neo? Having seen (numerous) Dunkin' locations around the towns and cities of my country, I wished to venture abroad...🙂...Among the international Dunkin' Donuts locations, it so happens that there are 24 Dunkin' locations in the United Kingdom as of July 2025, spread across 24 cities. In England itself, there are (supposedly) 16 locations (of course, the City of London included, with 4 locations). So, my ORIG airport was settled to be (EGLL). Next, for my destination (in England), I selected Sheffield, a city in South Yorkshire, England. This is because (we, non-natives of England...🙂...) might recall that Sheffield and Robin Hood are connected through the claim that Robin Hood, the legendary English outlaw and hero, was born in a village in the Sheffield area. While Sherwood Forest is the more widely known location associated with Robin Hood (and his merry men), Sheffield has a strong tradition and historical evidence suggesting Robin Hood's origins are rooted in this region. Actually, both Nottingham and Sheffield have connections to the Robin Hood legend, and Nottingham is also prominently associated with the story. While Sheffield claims Robin Hood's birthplace, Nottingham is where the majority of the legend is known to be set, particularly in Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle. Whatever it is, I selected my destination airport to be in Sheffield (knowing that there is apparently a tie between Sheffield and Nottingham with each having 2 Dunkin' locations...🙂...). Sheffield, however, does not have its own airport currently, but there is Doncaster Sheffield Airport which is located about 19 miles east of Sheffield. Not surprisingly, this airport was formerly known as Robin Hood Airport (the affiliation with the hero, considered locally controversial, was later dropped from the name of the airport). This airport has been temporarily closed since November 2022, but there are ongoing efforts to reopen it in 2026. Undeterred by such circumstances, my DEST airport was chosen to be EGCN (Doncaster Sheffield Airport). So, here we go, as I fly this Dunkin' Airbus A320neo from London Heathrow (EGLL/Runway 27R) up north to Doncaster Sheffield Airport (EGCN/Runway 02), near the birthplace of Robin Hood. BTW, I don't know why but I'm now reminded of Jesse James...🙂..., arguably the most famous outlaw in American history. His notoriety stems from a combination of (similar) exploits for which he has the perceived image as a modern-day Robin Hood, although historians debate the extent to which this was true...🙂...Oh well... Hope you enjoy this collection of images, below, from my short trip of about 150 miles, today...across the pretty landscape and rolling pastures of English countryside...in dusk light...!
