This scenery causes a CTD for me when I load into it, likely due to a conflict since it works fine if it's the only scenery in the folder. Just a heads up to folks that it could require some troubleshooting.

Probably ILS (4L; 4R) isn't working properly (but this is probably a bug from XP11 or earlier) .

And (probably) very FPS-intensive ...

What is wrong with the ILS?

I don't own the scenery. I'm very tempted, but...

One area that was always an issue at JustSim's LFMN Nice was the ILS alignment, sadly it is still not fixed? as any ILS is not aligned with it's runway, take 04R for example, if on the ILS approach you will be guided directly inbetween 04L and 04R and the central hard ground? If your ready for it, you can make the correction in time, but it is still really very annoying it is still out after all these years and not fixed, in XP10 you could fix the alignment yourself, but not any more? So the ILS is really not usable here at all.

PS. As I have family in this region, LFMN and LFMD (and a bit further LFTZ), these sceneries are especially close to my heart and I will definitely buy new LFMN anyway ;-).

@Bulva

According to the charts 04r ils is offset by 2deg. Not every ils is perfectly centered, so its probably a non issue

A minor issue. 04L is, and is, the most common landing runway in RL anyway, and the ILS in 04R in XP is broken.

I'm just curious what it looks like in reality 🙂

Well if its offset its not broken. there are many reasons why an ils may not be centered, limited space, terrain. May be to maintain seperation. I doubt any pilot would admit during an investigation, that they let the plane land off the runway even though they could see it wasnt aligned. In fact go on top google earth you can see that 04L is at end 04R is in between at end, Seems sea water doesnt help ILS placement.

Check photo top you can see the ILS it is where its supposed ti be xplane is not broken.

LOL, I LOVE it when an obvious aviation noobie comes to the wrong conclusions about something being a BUG - and then it´s "nope, this is the way it is in reality, you are just word not allowed about how stuff really works". 😂

If you look at the satellite imagery of Nice, you can see red/white striped "housings" at the approach end of runway 22L and 22R. These are protective covers for the LOC antennas serving ILS 04L and 04R - and you can also see that the one for 04R is NOT behind the runway on the centerline, simply because there is no space there. So it is offset to the side, the ILS approach is "angled" so that you are approximately on the centerline as you break out at the minimums (here they are higher than regular CAT I for that reason, 310 feet AGL instead of the customary 200 feet).

Thank you for your substantive explanation.
I only quoted a fragment of a long and, I thought, professional review.

He obviously never bothered to check charts or aiport at all.

I think it is a fairly common misconception, when in fact the " inbound course tolerance" for CAT I ILS approaches is fairly large, I don´t know the exact value, but it is in the magnitude of 10 degrees offset.

There are many cases in the world (KFJK 22L, KFLG, KSNA,...) where localizers are severely offset, either for terrain or airspace reasons  or because there is no space for the LOC antenna.

What irks me is that someone cries "bug" and then also chides Laminar for "it still not being fixed" - when you make such an accusation, you better check your facts first.

CAT II/III approaches are always aligned with the runway centerline as those are designed to be flown in very low visibility conditions with automatic approaches and landings (mandatory for CATIII but also often mandated by company policies for CAT II).
