September 13, 2025Sep 13 ...has gone bonkers since SU16. It still performs properly, but now, when the throttle is pulled below 50', it begins announcing"auto-throttle", "auto-throttle", "auto-throttle", "auto-throttle" continuously on roll-out. Disconnecting the auto throttle stops this behavior until I shut down the engines, whereupon it begins to shout "auto-throttle", "auto-throttle", "auto-throttle" again. This continues through the entire shut-down sequence and does not stop until the batteries are turned off. Am I the only one experiencing this? September 14, 2025Sep 14 Author I have posted this with MSFS as a bug. If you are experiencing this issue you can vote on it here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/longitude-auto-throttle-audio-annuciator/738365 Randall Rocke
September 15, 2025Sep 15 Author I thought I should update this... In a flight today in the Longitude using the auto throttle, I once again experienced the "auto throttle" audio warning when I pulled power for touch-down. Before the recent updates, there was no announce on this and, following procedures, I disconnected the AT after departing the runway. This always took two presses on the AT release, and the AT indicator would then disappear from the PFD. After the recent updates I pressed the disconnect once to get rid of the audio warning, forgetting that it used to take two presses. Later, when the engines were shut down, the warning announcement would start again and would not shut off until turning off the batteries. Today, recalling that this used to take two presses (though I don't know if that is correct in actuality) I once more pressed it during roll-out to shut it up. Then, once off the runway, I noticed that the AT was still illuminated on the PFD and pressed the release again - the AT disappeared from the PFD. After shutting down the engines all was quiet. I don't know if this procedure/response is accurate to the RW, but I can testify that this approach does silence the warning. Randall Rocke

As I replied in the official forums thread, it is not proper procedure to just yank the power manually with AT still active. This is why you're getting the aural, as it is causing an automatic AT disconnect. Pressing the AT DISC button once silences the current warning but does not change the state of the AT. Because AT is still on the target will become idle power upon landing and the AT servos will reconnect once they reach the physical throttle location (which now is also idle or thereabouts). A new warning is issued when the engines are shut off, as the AT servos (which are now reconnected) detect they can no longer control the engines. Correct procedure is to either a) fly in with AT on, and it will retard the throttles for you, or b) press AT DISC once to disconnect the AT and press it again to confirm the disconnect; then you can reduce the throttle to idle. September 16, 2025Sep 16 Author Thanks, Matt. As you have seen from my post above, I have discovered the 2-part disconnect, though I'm still not certain of the "proper" procedure on the approach. The manual states that the auto throttle will reduce power after descending below 40' AGL, so how do we handle this in the sim? Leave the peripheral control throttle up at 100% and let the AT reduce? Then, after touchdown, disconnect the AT then pull the control throttle to "0"? Today my approach and landing went smoothly. I pulled the control throttle to "0" after descending through 50' and immediately pressed the AT disconnect as I flared. I pressed the disconnect again after I exited the runway. I would prefer to do this "by the book" but in the sim my control throttle will still be at 100% if I leave the AT active through touchdown. Randall Rocke

"By the book" depends both on the book and your particular peripherals. Some C700 operators forbid use of AT for landing in their procedures, other operators allow it. The manufacturer themselves allows it. As long as your hardware throttle is not excessively noisy, leaving it where it is should be just as OK during landing as it is any other phase of flight, if you plan to land with AT on. Then you can disconnect AT at the end of your rollout and pull the throttle back. If you're planning on disconnecting AT prior to landing, you can just press the disconnect button twice quickly as you pull the throttle out, it shouldn't really be disruptive (or at least I've never noticed it being so on my less than stellar old Siatek units).
September 16, 2025Sep 16 Author Thanks - I'll play around with it and see what works best. Randall Rocke
