What year is MSFSX's magnetic variation based on?

HiIf we trust offsets 0x84 to 0x86 of the FSX magdec.bgl file, it should be 1-Nov-2006 (FS9 original magdec is 1/1/1993)Herv

The magdec.bgl file is dated 8/1/2006 on both FSX SP2/Acceleration and a backup pristine copy of the RTM version on my computer.But since magdec is a basically consistent - setting the magdec to a date slightly in the future before release would not be difficult and certainly no more than a few hundredths off the mark.

Thanks,I was wondering eg, if the initial FSX released with like a 2005 or earlier date and later it was updated to the 2006 version bgl?
