X39 Tampa Airpark to Atlanta Peachtree

Featured Replies

I'm so happy to have a 2024 version of the Duke in my sim now.  I've taken up TimHH's superb paint on the turbine for about a 350nm flight that lasts just shy of 2 hours.

Both airports are freeware recently released!

We file X39 BRUTS Q118 THRSR KPDK / FL260

I thought maybe the airport was too small for the turbine duke but they do have JetA fuel... so we'll call it realistic enough!  We'll be dodging some storms as we blast out of here - we'll be talking to Tampa departure as X39 is uncontrolled

A few deviations to avoid the heavier precip, but we didn't have to do many course changes and are enroute our first fix BRUTS, to join RNAV airway Q118

Looking back SW at Spring Hill, North Tampa and the Gulf of Mexico (Atlantic Ocean) - we're leaving the storms behind it seems

Approaching Top of Climb...  we did about 3000 fpm up to FL260

We got a slight tailwind with a ground speed approaching 300 knots - not too shabby!

N604SC is a stunning repaint by TimHH - done in dark blue and gold - Tim and mine Duke paints are all updated for use in 2024

We've passed Cedar Key (KCDK) and we're east of Tallahassee now established on Q118

Not 100% certain where this is - it may be Albany, GA (KABY) or possibly Americus (KACJ)- but I liked the pic

Pulling the destination weather as we start down

I also like this pic... somewhere about 60 miles south of Atlanta

Seems like Atlanta Approach Control will bring us right over KATL

Some gorgeous late afternoon sun as we go in and out of IMC

We'll plan a visual to runway 03R at KPDK

The atmosphere is simply stunning here... (watch out for those antennas! 1182 AGL!)  Anyone from the Atlanta area with real world flying experience?  How common is a visual to runway 3R?

A smooth touchdown and off to parking

The turbine is fast - makes for a great IFR touring aircraft.  Where shall we go next?

...Hmm...🙂...I thought I would not hear that from a Professional...🙂...Anyway, you're talking to someone who has taken off (and landed) 787s on runways not certified for the 737NG...Oh well...

Seriously, a wonderful touring series and travelogue here, Ryan, both on and off the ground...

The Duke looks really sharp, as usual, in Tim's paintjob. Glad you're enjoying this old favorite...in MSFS2024...along with advanced cockpit avionics to boot...

Thanks!  Yes Tim knocked this paint job out of the park!  It's superb!
