September 19, 2025Sep 19 Hello, I would like to remove the default One World Trade Center building in NYC from my P3Dv5. I successfully converted the textures of an old FSX scenery of the original World Trade Center and now its visible in P3Dv5 too. However, its not too realistic if the current One WTC is standing right next to them. Is there a way to remove the new WTC from the sim? I tried looking around the default scenery files but couldn't find anything. I'd appreciate the assistance! PS: I'm not trying to recreate or do anything malicious, I just want to make NYC look more like it did in the 80s and 90s, as I often fly retro aircraft. Casual flyer, mostly in Europe, East-Asia and North America. My specs: i7-10700K, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 4 TB SSDs I fly in: Prepar3Dv5.3
September 20, 2025Sep 20 Add an exlusion rectangle at the ground of the new WTC building. I assume you have a program to place the old WTC and hopefully you can also add the exclusion with this. I use Whisplacer. In topdown view in the sim you can position an plane at the corners of the building you want to remove. When Whisplacer is connected with the sim, you see the plane and can ajust the exclusion accordingly. OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons) Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet! Its an already existing scenery for FSX that didn't show up properly in P3Dv5. I adjusted the textures and now it works in P3D too. I never really did scenery adjusting before. I did make exclusions for airports with ADE but other than that, not much. Casual flyer, mostly in Europe, East-Asia and North America. You can create an fictous airport with ADE and import the buildings you got with the scenery, then do the exclusion rectangle in this scenery. Make sure to use an airport icao code not existing, maybe OWTC, that's not existing. If you want to learn something new use Whisplacer available here OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons) Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet!
